THE BEST KIND OF LOVE

I promise to plant kisses like seeds on your body, so in time you can grow to love yourself as I love you.

Tyler Knott Gregson

The best kind of love is refractory. A bending light that reflects from you to me. A way to recognize a deeper love of self. A new growth that comes from seeing ourselves in a new kind of light, directly from the prism of another human being.

This love that can be so bright and powerful, that it is blinding, and come from anyone. It is not just from a lover but also a parent, friend or mentor. We can see ourselves through that love, how it is directly reflected, or we can pass that purity through our own filter and make it something different.

Lean on an open, fertile mind. The ability to know change intimately is not only possible but necessary, no matter age or position in life. How we react to this reverberation of emotion wrapped up in this behavior called love, is the True North in everyone. The question is do you want to see it, believe it? Scapegoating is weakness and denial. Self-pity.

The desire to lick our wounds can be strong or the comparison of a different life. What is ironic is that desire to keep hurting. We deny love and live in pain when we feel abandoned. This undoubtedly requires more energy than to just accept that love happens to us in so many forms, phases, and degrees.

Simple choices yet we love to make things more complex. We feel it. We know it. Yet nothing that rewarding can be that simple?

I'm a writer and a lover not a fighter, except if I really want something.
