I’m Kinky, Therefore I am. The Cogito of Kink.
I love nothing more than to wax philosophical about the intellect of kink. Ok, perhaps there are a few things but that is for another post. 😉
We can thank the French philosopher Rene Descartes for sparking the discussion for proof of life and to a further extent, the practice of logical thought. While this is not a blog post examining and arguing Descartes beliefs, the v. basis of made me think of how it does apply to being kinky.
If we take a moment to extrapolate the juice of what Descartes’ theory is, you would arrive at the conclusion that because we are able to doubt, it is our thinking that proves we exist in the first place. That leads me to my next point…
People underestimate the role kink plays.
We are complex. It would be more unnatural to say that we are always thinking “vanilla’ when I am wiling to be that at some point in everyone’s life there was a ponderance or perverted thought. While it is true that thought is much difference from action, the action is not what makes someone kinky.
It is not learning how to flog, whip or spank properly that makes you kinky. It has nothing to with how many p/e relationships you have been in, how many workshops you have attended or even your appearance.
It does have everything to down with your state of being and the fact that you, at some point, may have gone through a serious of acceptance and rejections of that truth. Whether you every engaged those thoughts into action is irrelevant. It is v. important to point this out because as we advance in society it becomes almost necessary to prove to others…rather than simply for our own self.
The “how” is for another blog post….
Quote of the Day: ipsa scintilla potestas est – knowledge itself is power.
Yours truly,
the kinky thinker xx
