Return on Connection
I don’t know who came up with the saying ” its not personal, its business.” I suspect they lived a lonely life. In my experience relationships of any kind, in any form, are personal. I managed clients in the digital ad space for over 13 years and I learned that a service business in any form are effected simply by human nature. Whether we like to admit it or not, general life can impede and at times sharpen our decision-making abilities. In a world where robotics are poised to take over certain jobs, its clear that life rotates and thrives through personal connection.
We are not just the sum of our parts.
At some point, We may label people or lack empathy. Technology has immeasurably changed our lives and instant gratification is the remedy. We expect emails and text to be returned instantly, often without giving a thought to the person on the end. Where there is effort required to not be reactionary to situations, especially in business, when there are so many factors that influence our success, we come to realize the significance of connection and the reverberating impact it has on our lives. This connection is built simply on integrity and authenticity, regardless of the type of relationship.
The return of which is priceless.
