Ash to Ash
Today, marks the start of Lent, for those in Christian faith. I attended mass today and during the homily the Priest spoke about the true meaning of Lent – letting go of burden so that we could open our hearts and be closer to God.
The priest brought me to tears with his raw honesty. We rarely hear it in our daily lives. In a society that is constantly wired, where silence is not golden but rather uncomfortable for most, Lent is a time for us to look inward. It is a time for reflection and self-improvement.
Having a strong faith is extremely important to me. Rather than giving up something for Lent, I choose to be closer to God by having a more loving attitude. Not just with those that are closest to me but in my business with clients and with random strangers I come in contact with. I will work on bringing more of the “can-do” positive energy back into my vernacular. It is too easy to get discourage and frustrated.
Regardless of your religious beliefs, we could all use a little time out to reflect.
