Holiday Peace

I wanted address the recent shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. I have many clients in Fairfield County and I pray they or nobody they know are directly affected by this tragedy in any way, although I  understand that the impact will be felt as a result of this senseless tragedy on our innocent youth.

My older niece is in pre-school in southern New Jersey and she is the light of my life. I am not a parent but I can empathize and grieve for the parents, neighbors, teachers and children affected by this massacre.

We often go through life on cruise control and when things like this happen we stop to realize how important faith, hope and being a neighbor means. New York NJ and CT has seen an incredible amount of suffering over the last few months and if the expression “what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger” could ever be more appropriate than an this moment.

Tonight at mass I will light candles and pray for healing of all the families and communities affected.
